Religious, Society, and Fraternal Medals
American Social and Protective Organization President's Badge. Gold. 38 x 75 mm. 20.5 grams. Near Mint.
A multi-part hanging badge. The hinged pinback suspension bar is engraved and enameled PRESIDENT / E. GUTTMAN, and below this is a suspended panel bearing a pair of shaking hands. Below the clasped hands is an eagle with wings outspread, perched on a laurel-wreathed shield engraved PRES. BY / CH. OHAW SOL. / ANSCHE / BUKACZOWCE / OCT. 18 / 1902. This late 19th to early 20th century badge appears to be from a Romanian/American group. While this badge is not marked as gold, typically these were made from 10 or 14 K gold.
