GERMANY. Prussia. Peace of Teschen/Friedrich II "the Great" Silver Medal, 1779. CHOICE EXTREMELY FINE Details.
Pax in Nummis -637; Olding-705b; Hoffmann-29. By A. Abramson. Obverse: Laureate, draped, and armored bust left; Reverse: Minerva hovering among the clouds, holding Prussian shield and encouraging olive tree to grow from the ground guided by her spear. Some scattered scuffs and hairlines from cleaning, with a bit of a mottled nature near the reverse peripheries. The treaty at Teschen was signed between the Habsburgs and the Kingdom of Prussia, and ultimately settled the problem of Bavarian succession and a nearly year-old conflict that was largely a stalemate.
