Obverse: Antique car left, with driver and two attendants, each wearing tricorne hat; Reverse: CONCOURS D'ELÉGANCE / AUTOMOBILE / LA BAULE in three lines and set upon cartouche; leaves and rising sun behind. Edge : ARGENT [2 hallmarks]. Lightly cleaned, with pleasing steel gray surfaces. A VERY RARE and interesting Art Deco automobile medal. An annual auto show with a flair for fashion, the "concours d'élégance en automobile" takes place in La Baule, continuing to evoke the spirit of the '20s and '30s as presented on this medal.
