FRANCE. 20 Francs, L'An XI-A (1802). Paris Mint. Napoleon as First Consul. PCGS AU-53 Gold Shield.
Fr-480; KM-651; Gad-1020. AGW: 0.1867 oz. A wholesome, lightly circulated coin, with flashy luster still remaining in the peripheral legends. Though the coin is dated "An XI", as in Year 11 since the French Revolution, the original Constitution had already been replaced in 1799. The changes in this new document ("Constitution of Year VIII") would eventually lead to Napoleon finding his way to become Emperor.
