GREAT BRITAIN. George I Coronation Silver Medal, 1714. London Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-63 Gold Shield.
MI-424/9; Eimer-470. By J. Croker. Obverse: Laureate, draped, and armored bust right; Reverse: George seated right on throne, being crowned by Britannia, holding spear and shield, standing to right. An incredibly choice example, this piece presents gunmetal gray surfaces dominated by a vibrant, colorful palette. Burgundy, champagne, and cobalt all contribute to the eye appeal that is most evident for this first of the Hanoverian kings.
From the Duke of Lansing Collection.
