MACEDON. Kingdom of Macedon. Philip III, 323-317 B.C. AR Drachm (4.29 gms), Sardes Mint, ca. A.D. 323/2 B.C. NGC Ch AU★, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 4/5.
cf. Pr-P80 (monogram). Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and scepter; torch in left field; monogram below throne. Wholly deserving of its star designation for exceptional eye appeal, this incredible example offers a great deal of luster and a sharp, well centered strike.
