ITALY. Venice. Osella, 1795. Ludovico Manin. PCGS MS-63 Gold Shield.
Paolucci-614. Obverse: Arms of the doge, the chamberlain, the podestà and the commune rotated around a central rosette, set off by four cherubs; Reverse: Arms of four deputies, also set of by four cherubs. A touch crudely made with some incomplete definition on the highest points of the design, but virtually as struck with no identifiable instances of handling. Closer inspection only bolsters the appeal, with strong gleam appearing in the recesses where rose-champagne tone has also settled. A RARE type in any quality, so its unsurpassed quality at PCGS or NGC should come as no surprise.
