Description

GERMANY. Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. Taler, 1752-IBH. Zellerfeld Mint. Karl I. NGC MS-62.
Dav-2167; KM-942. Bleifeld Mine Commemorative type. A two-year type (also struck in 1750), which depicts a mining scene with pillar at center on the obverse and the addition two iconic wildmen on the reverse, which support the central crowned arms design. Quite nice for the issue, this example is better struck than most with a charming blanket of tone over both sides that is mostly golden-brown in the centers, and brightens at the edges with infusions of yellow, green, blue and mauve color. A wonderful coin overall that would fit seamlessly into many well-focused collections.
Estimate: $1500.00- $2500.00
