A wonderful representative of a Bolivian "Royal", struck on a flan that is virtually fully round with designs that display minimal doubling and legends that are fully legible. Showcasing old tone throughout, the recesses are uniformly deep gray-brown, while the highpoints are lighter, imparting pleasing contrast. Although once holed and now plugged, the plug was expertly applied and has since toned to match the rest of the surfaces. Whether sought by the specialist with the lofty goal of acquiring these elusive issues by date, or the collector seeking to own a single example of this iconic type, this example is sure to please.
