CELTIC. Lower Danube. AR Tetradrachm (14.98 gms), Mint in the Carpathian region, 2nd century B.C. NGC Ch EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 3/5. Edge Filing.
OTA-244. Imitating Philip II of Macedon. Kinnlos (Chinless) type. Obverse: Stylized head of Zeus right, without chin; Reverse: Stylized horse and rider right; line with central pellet below. A highly attractive and enticing example of this crude Celtic type, featuring a somewhat devolved rendition of Zeus without a chin. Well centered and struck, with a deep cabinet tone and some hints of shimmering luster remaining as well.
