1851 Liberty Head Eagle. AU-53 (PCGS).
Blended honey and pinkish-gold patina is seen on both sides of this boldly defined, lustrous example. An underrated issue, as are many pre-Civil War era Liberty Head eagles, the 1851 is remarkably scarce in the finer circulated grades, despite its mintage of 176,328 pieces. A find for the astute gold enthusiast.
