cf. KMX-345 (for Tael). A well made and nicely preserved example of this extremely difficult to locate series. It is interesting to note that the legitimate denominations from this series did not include a 5 Mace, but did include a Tael, 4 Mace, 2 Mace and 1 Mace. The present piece exhibits attractive rich slate patina with brighter areas on the obverse. The reverse displays rich patina that is a bit brighter than the obverse and is quite attractive. A handsome piece sure to see spirited bidding from advance collectors.
