CHINA. Qing (Ch'ing) Dynasty. Gansu. 100 Cash, ND (1854-57). Gongchang Mint. Emperor Xianfeng (Wenzong). Graded "75" by GBCA.
Hartill-22.809; FD-2540. Er bao, Curved gung variety. "Xian Feng yuan bao"; Reverse: "Dang bai" (Value One Hundred). A well made piece with good definition of the characters with original rough surface texture from the casting process, though slightly worn, and characteristic file marks on the flat rims and tops of the devices as is normally associated with issues of this nature. Minor red earthen deposits amongst the devices and crevasses. Several edge bumps and minor casting voids in the rim are noted for accuracy. Rich brassy tone is noted atop of the devices with dark patina in the open areas. Despite its shortcomings a handsome example of the type.
Estimate: $200.00- $300.00
