KM-4; Gad-31; Lec-255. Mintage: 100. A RARE proof only issue struck during the Exposition Universalle of 1889 (Paris World's Fair). A sharply struck example as would be expected being a Paris mint product produced for a special occasion. The piece exhibits rich smokey grey patina slightly subduing the proof surfaces which retain some flash in the protected areas. Overall a handsome representative of the type from this popular series sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
