g Australia, Edward VII (1901-10), gold Half-Sovereign, 1907-M, Melbourne Mint, bare head right, De S. below truncation for engraver George W De Saulles, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, EDWARDVS VII DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF: IND: IMP:, rev. St George slaying the dragon with sword, broken lance to lower left, date in exergue with B.P. designer initials, M mint mark on groundline (Hill 515; Bull EGC 1828; QM 293; S 3975). Toned, has been slabbed and graded by PCGS as AU58, rare.PCGS Certification 113125.58/81788010.
Calendar year mintage not known but likely part of the 405,034 figure for 1908 could include this date.
The Latin legend on the obverse translates as "Edward the Seventh, by the grace of God, King of all the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."
