g Victoria (1837-1901), gold Half-Sovereign, 1871, second young head left, nose points nearer to O in legend, type A2 with die number, date below, Latin legend surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, fine toothed borders, I of DEI points to gap, last I of legend to bead, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, tiny raised dot just above centre of shield on vertical dividing line, die number 69 below, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF: (Hill 446; Bull EGC.1271; MCE.-; S.3860). Toned with light surface marks, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as MS61.NGC Certification 35898901-016 - labelled as S.3860A and 446B but has fine borders.
Calendar year mintage 2,217,760.
The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God," and on the reverse as "Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
