Description

China, Empire, Xuantong (1908-1912), silver 5 Jiao or Half Dollar, Year 47 (1910), four Chinese characters within inner beaded border dividing floral design, Manchu inscription ᡩᠠᡳᠴᡳᠩ ᡤᡠᡵᡠᠨ ᠮᡝᠩᡤᡠᠨ ᡠᠯᡳᠨ above round, denomination 角伍 below, rev. ornate dragon with pearl centre within beaded border, Chinese inscription 造年統宣 above, denomination ½ DOL. below, edge milled (KM Y.23; Kann 220; L&M 25). Previously graded by PCGS as Cleaned- XF Detail, since removed from holder and conserved.

Previous PCGS Certification 47026273 (now removed from this holder, but the images can be consulted on the PCGS website).

Calendar year mintage 1,571,000.

The Manchu inscription translates as “Great Qing’s silver currency,” and the Chinese characters as “Qing dynasty's National Bank.”
