g Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1866, die number 65, along with a Penny Black and Penny Blue Stamps, young head left, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF:, edge milled, 7.98g (Bentley 494; Marsh 51; S.3853). General circulation wear but with good residual lustre, a bold very fine. The Stamps have both been franked but are otherwise in good condition, rare.

Calendar year mintage 4,047,288.

The Latin legends translated read: on obverse "Victoria by the Grace of God," continuing on the reverse "Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
