Description

Edward VII (1901-10), silver Crown, 1902, bare head right, DeS initials below truncation for engraver George William De Saulles, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, EDWARDVS VII DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF: IND: IMP:, rev. St. George and the Dragon right, date in exergue, B.P. initials to upper right for designer Benedetto Pistrucci, edge inscribed in raised letters, DECUS ET TUTAMEN ANNO REGNI II, 28.37g (Bull 3560; ESC 361; S.3978). Toned with blackening to lower half of obverse, some light scratches in field, reverse more evenly toned with surface marks across diagonally, graded by NGC as MS64.

Calendar year mintage 256,000.

The Latin legend translates as “Edward the Seventh by the Grace of God, King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India.”
