Description

Victoria (1837-1901), silver Crown, 1887, Jubilee bust left, J.E.B. on truncation for engraver Joseph Edgar Boehm, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D:G: BRITT: REG: F:D:, rev. St. George and the Dragon right, broken lance to left on groundline, date in exergue, B.P to upper right for designer Benedetto Pistrucci, edge milled, 28.04g (Bull 2585; ESC 296; S.3921). Toned with an attractive orange hue, particularly on the reverse, graded by NGC as MS64.

NGC Certification 6674060-002

Calendar year mintage 173,500.

The Latin legend translates as “Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith.”
