France, Napoléon I, First Consul (1799-1804), gold 20-Francs, AN 12-A (1803/4), Paris mint, laureate head left, DROZ F. on truncation, NAPOLEON EMPEREUR, rev. denomination within wreath, date below, mintmaster's mark to the left (Ch.-P. de l'Espine), mint mark to the right, legend surrounding, REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE, edge *DIEU * PROTEGE * LA * FRANCE *, 6.44g (Gad 1021; KM 661). Possibly wiped, nonetheless retaining abundant mint lustre, very fine.
