Description

MS63 | George III (1760-1820), silver Bank Token of Three Shillings, 1816, second laureate head right, Latin legend GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA REX, rev. denomination and date in four lines surrounded by oak and laurel wreath (ESC 424; Bull 2085 R3; S.3770). Toned, good extremely fine and very rare, graded by PCGS as MS63. PCGS certification 206309.63/81171722.

The final year of the Three Shilling bank token as shown here is by far the rarest and this piece has a provenance stretching back over 25 years. The Latin obverse legend translates as "George III, King by the Grace of God" coupled with an English language reverse.
