PF64 | George III (1760-1820), gold proof Half Guinea, 1813, seventh laureate head right, legend surrounding, GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA, rev. quartered shield of arms with crowned escutcheon of the arms of Hanover, all within crowned garter, French legend on garter HONI. SOIT. QUI. MAL. Y. PENSE., date below, legend commences upper right, BRITANNIARUM REX FIDEI DEFENSOR (WR ; EGC 859; MCE 448; S.3737). Warmly toned with an underlying brilliance, an extremely rare proof of record as defined by NGC who have graded this coin as PF64.

Certification 357541-007.

The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George III by the grace of God" and on the reverse "King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith." We note that an identically graded example of this issue sold for $14,100 including Buyer’s Premium in a 2014 Heritage Auctions sale.
