Description

William IV (1830-37), gold Sovereign, 1837, second bare head right, W.W. incuse on truncation, GULIELMUS IIII D: G: BRITANNIAR: REX F: D:, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms in frame, ANNO 1837 below, 7.96g (Marsh 21; S.3829B). Some light scratches to both sides, evenly worn on portrait, good fine with considerable remaining lustre.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "William IV by the Grace of God, King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith," and on the reverse "In the year 1837."
