Description
SYRIA, Cyrrhestica. Cyrrhus. Elagabalus, 218-222. Ae (bronze, 11.68 g, 28 mm). Laureate and draped bust to right. Rev. Hexastyle temple containing statue of Zeus Kataibates seated to left, holding thunderbolt and sceptre; eagle at his feet, ram running to left above temple, ΚΥΡΗCΤΩΝ in exergue. Butcher pl. 26, 20; RPC VI, 8183 (temp). Nearly very fine.
