Anonymous Folles, time of Constantine IX, circa 1042-1055. Follis (bronze, 5.02 g, 26 mm), Constantinople. Christ seated facing on square-backed throne. Rev. IS XS / bASILE / bASIL' in three lines; above, cross between two lines; below, crescent between two lines. DOC Class D; SB 1836. Very fine.
