Description
PHOENICIA. Tyre. Severus Alexander, as Caesar, 222-235. Ae (bronze, 11.96 g, 26 mm). Bareheaded, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev. Tyche-Astarte standing facing, foot on prow and placing hand on trophy, being crowned by Nike atop short column to right; Marsyas between trophy and Tyche-Astarte; murex shell between Tyche-Astarte and column. Cf. Rouvier 2413; BMC 419. Good fine.
