Description
BAKTRIA, Indo-Greek Kingdom. Menander I, circa 165/55-130 BC. Drachm (silver, 2.41 g, 18 mm), uncertain mint in Paropamisadai or Gandhara. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΣΩTHPOΣ - MENANΔPOY Helmeted and draped bust of Menander I to right. Rev. Karoshti legend around, Athena advancing left, holding shield on left arm and brandishing thunderbolt with her right; to right, monogram. Bopearachchi 16C. HGC 12, 193. Good very fine.
