Silver aspron trachy,1208-1212 (?). Obv. Christ enthroned facing, with nimbus, wearing tunic and colobium, holding book of Gospels; in field, IC – XC. Rev. (ΘEOΔωPOC DECΠOT) Theodore on l., wearing divitision, loros and sagion, and St. Theodore on r., nimbate, and wearing military tunic, breastplate and sagion, both holding sheathed sword and long, star-tipped shaft. Sear 2064. DOC 30, 2-3. 4.34 g. Scyphate form. Fine toning, Rev. legend blurred through minting. Extremely fine. Purchased from Spink, London in August 1971.
