The nymph Messana, holding kentron in left hand and reins in both, driving slow biga of mules to right; above, Nike standing to right on reins, crowning horse; olive leaf and berry in exergue / Hare springing to right; MEΣΣANION around, dolphin to right below. Caltabiano Series XIII, 490 (D199/R200); SNG ANS 358 (same obv. die); SNG Lockett -; SNG Ashmolean -; Pozzi 1091 (same obv. die); Boston MFA 290 (same obv. die); HGC 2, 787. 17.29g, 25mm, 12h.

Near Extremely Fine; beautifully centred, and featuring a delightful old cabinet tone.
