France, First Empire. Napoléon I Æ Medal. Commemorating the abdication of Napoléon. Dated 11 April 1814. Dies by Brenet; Denon, mintmaster. NAPOLEON EMP. ET ROI., bust to right, wearing military uniform; BRENET. F. below truncation / Napoléon standing to left and signing the act of abdication on sheet set on desk, his hand guided by Fury behind him, holding lit torch; DENON D. to lower right, L'EMPEREUER NAPOLEON ABDIQUE XI. AVRIL MDCCCXIV. (sic) in two lines in exergue above BRENET. F. Bramsen 1387. 33.13g, 40mm, 12h.

Fleur De Coin; an excellent example of a propagandistic medal depicting a momentous event.
