France, First Empire. Napoléon I Æ Medal. Commemorating the Battle of Eylau. Dated 8 February 1807. Dies by Andrieu and Brenet; Denon, mintmaster. NEAPOLIO IMPERATOR REX., laureate head to right; ANDRIEU F. on neck truncation / VICTORIAE MANENTI., Napoléon, in the guise of Diomedes, seated to right on pile of arms, holding sword and Victory on globe; DENON D to outer left, BRENET on ground line to left. BATAILLE DE PREUSS EYLAU VIII. FEVRIER MDCCCVII. in three lines in exergue. Bramsen 628 var. (obv. legend). 39.30g, 41mm, 12h.
