France, First Republic. Napoléon Bonaparte, as Premier Consul, AR Medal. Commemorating Napoléon's escape from the assassination plot of the Rue Saint-Nicaise. Dated year 4 of Bonaparte = 1802/3. Dies by Brenet; Denon, mintmaster. Head to left; BRENET below neck truncation, DENON DIREXIT below / A LA FORTUNE CONSERVATRICE, Fortune seated to right in boat with rudder and sail, star above, L'AN 4 DE BONAPARTE. in two lines in exergue, BRENET to lower left. Bramsen 275. 21.06g, 34mm, 12h.
