Description

Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, Ptolemy III Euergetes AV Mnaieion (Oktadrachm). Commemorative issue struck under Ptolemy IV. Alexandria, circa 219-217 BC. Radiate and diademed bust of deified Ptolemy III to right, wearing aegis; trident over shoulder, middle prong ending in lotus finial / BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΠTOΛEMAIOY, radiate and filleted cornucopiae, grape bunch hanging to left; ΔI below. CPE 888; Svoronos 1117; SNG Copenhagen 196; Olivier & Lorber dies 3/10; BMC 103 (same dies).

NGC graded Ch XF 5/5 - 3/5, brushed (#4885147-015).
