Description

Kingdom of Macedon, Alexander III 'the Great' AV Hemistater. Salamis, circa 332-323 BC. Head of Athena to right, wearing triple-crested Corinthian helmet decorated with coiled serpent / Nike standing to left, holding wreath and stylis; ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ to right, O below wing tip; at feet to left, dove standing to right. Price -, cf. 3129 (stater) and 3130 (without O). 4.33g, 15mm, 12h.

NGC graded Ch AU★ 5/5 - 3/5, scratch (#6158066-001). Unique and unpublished.
