This exceptional issue shares the same reverse die as that of one of the earliest issues of the Corinthian colony of Leukas (ACGC 229; Calciati, Pegasi p. 393, 17 = BMC 7). The date of this parallel development is confirmed by the deposit of coins sealed in the destruction of the Isthmian temple of Poseidon in c. 475 BC, (IGCH 11, Broneer, Hesperia 1955, pp 135-6).
