Description

Lokris, Lokri Opuntii AR Stater. Circa 360-350 BC. Wreathed head of Demeter to left, wearing pearl necklace and triple-pendant earring / Ajax, nude but for crested Corinthian helmet, advancing to right on rocky ground, holding sword and shield decorated with griffin; wreath on ground between his legs, broken spear behind; ΟΠΟΝΤΙΩΝ around. BCD Lokris-Phokis 62 (same dies); BMC -; Corpus Group 18, 135k; HGC 4, 990.

NGC graded VF 5/5 - 3/5 (#4632828-002).
