Lucania, Herakleia AR Stater. Circa 276-250 BC. Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet adorned with griffin; ՒHPAKΛEIΩN above / Herakles standing facing, holding club and jug over lighted altar, lion skin draped over his left arm; thunderbolt to right. Van Keuren 136 (same obv. die); SNG ANS 94 var. (Athena to left); HN Italy 1433; HGC 1, 1007. 6.54g, 20mm, 2h.

Good Very Fine. Very Rare; the finest (by a considerable margin) of only three examples auctioned in the past 20 years.
