Libius Severus (Severus III) AV Solidus. Mediolanum, 19 November AD 461 - 14 November AD 465. D N LIBIVS SEVERVS P E AVG, rosette-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust to right / VICTORIA AVGGG, emperor standing facing in military attire, holding long cross and victoriola on globe, crushing man-headed serpent underfoot; M-D across fields, COMOB in exergue. RIC X 2720; Toffanin 523/1; Depeyrot 26/2; DOC 892; Lacam pl. XCV-1-2, Type D, 1 (same obv. die) and Type C, 2 (same rev. die); NAC 42, 255 (hammer: CHF 6,500) = Nomos 19, 395 (same obv. die). 4.45g, 22mm, 12h.

Good Extremely Fine; 'YX' graffito in obv. field, highly lustrous. Extremely Rare; only five examples studied by Depeyrot, seemingly only one other on CoinArchives.
