★ A Wonderful Archaic Tetradrachm of Athens ★

Attica, Athens AR Tetradrachm. Circa 500-480 BC. Archaic head of Athena to right, wearing plain crested Attic helmet, round earring with central boss and pearl necklace / Owl standing to right with head facing, olive sprig behind, [Α]ΘΕ before; all within incuse square. Seltman Group Gii, cf. 283 (A184/P-); Svoronos pl. 5, 1-19; HGC 4, 1590. 17.68g, 23mm, 6h.

Near Extremely Fine; beautiful old cabinet tone, an impressive example of archaic artistry. Very Rare.
