Lydia, Tralles, under Vedius Pollo. Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. Æ 24mm. 11.4 gm. Menandros, son of Parrhasios, magistrate. Obv: Bare head of Augustus right Rev: KAIS A RE WN, MENANDROU/PARRASIOU in two lines in exergue, octastyle temple façade; in pediment, eagle standing right; Nikes on acroteria, winged caduceus in right field. RPC I 2633.3; Imhoof-Blumer, Lydische 23; SNG München -; cf. SNG von Aulock 3278 (Vedius Pollio); BMC -; SNG Copenhagen 687 corr. (caduceus bound with taenia). Extremely rare.
