Obverse, Sasanian style bust turning right, name in front of face in Pahlavi, GDH and Apzut- behind the crown, phrase Bismillah on the second quarter and triple dots on both sides of 6 o'clock symbol. Reverse, fire altar with attendants, mint: DA (Darabgird) on the right, year 41 on the left. "Ziad was a capable administrator and governor of Iraq and then Persis region within the conquered portion of the Persian Empire. He continued his service under the Rashudin Califs and under the Umayyads". Choice EF. Lightly toned with some luster. Scare to rare.
