TABERISTAN, Daadborzmehr; (722-731 AD). AR Hemidrachm (2.11 gm; 24 mm). Obverse; Sasanian bust to the right, name in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase APD in Pahlavi in the second quarter. Reverse: fire altar with attendants, mint “TPURSTAN (Tabaristan)” on the right, date: 87 with a dot on the 9 o'clock star which is not of the reign. Typically the dots appear at 6 o'clock. The period coincides with reign of 10th Umayyad Khalif; Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik (724-743 AD). Album 51. Choice FDC. Lightly toned. Lustrous.
