TABERITAN, Umar ibn A’ala, (771-782 AD). AR Hemidrachm (1.96 gm; 24 mm). Obverse: Sasanian bust to the right, name Umar in Pahlavi in front of the face, Pahlavi phrase APD on the second quarter. Reverse; fire altar with attendants, mint TPURSTAN (Tabaristan), on the right, date: 120. Choice EF. Toned. Scarce.
