ABBASID, Al Mahdi (Mehdi). (reign: 775-785 AD). Æ Folus (3.36 gm; 16 mm). 3rd Abbasid Khalif, year 167 AH. mint: Ray? (Mohamadyeh). Obverse: al-Khalifah al Mahdi, Amir almo’menin, Rabi’(not to be mistaken with Rabii), year 167 AH, mint: Ray? (Mohamadyeh). Nice reddish patina. Choice VF. Extremely rare.
