HADRIAN (117-138). Cistophorus. Ephesus.

Obv: HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS P P.
Bare head right.
Rev: DIA - NA / EPHESIA.
Tetrastyle temple, containing facing statue of Artemis Ephesia, with supports.

RPC III 1335A.1 (this coin; 2 specimens cited).

Extremely rare. IMP CAES is legible on obverse from an Augustan undertype (RPC I 2213). Ex Rauch E-21 (2016), lot 165; Numismatik Naumann 50 (2017), lot 552

Condition: Very fine.
