JULIUS CAESAR. Denarius (49 BC). Contemporary imitation of military mint traveling with Caesar.

Obv: CAESA (sic).
Elephant advancing right, trampling upon horned serpent.
Rev: Emblems of the pontificate: simpulum, aspergillum, securis and apex.

Interesting imitative issue.
