Wilhelm Ebel was a German scholar known for editing and traslating early law codes. In the time of the Third Reich he played in important role in the Sicherheitsdienst, in the AMt Rosenberg, at the Führungshauptamt of the SS and has been division leader at the Rasse- and Siedlungshauptamt. During his work he has been a close confident of Heinrich Himmler. He was awarded the gold medal of honor by the city of Goslar in 1973.
