CILICIA. Hierapolis-Castabala. Pseudo-autonomous (Circa 2nd-3rd centuries). Ae.

Obv: ΙЄΡΟΠΟΛΙΤΩΝ.
Turreted, veiled and draped bust of Tyche right.
Rev: TΩN ΠPOC TΩ ΠVPAMΩ.
River god Pyramos swimming right, head facing, holding torch.

Ziegler -; SNG BN 2225; SNG Levante 1570.

Ex Dr. P. Vogl Collection; ex Bankhaus Aufhäuser (sold 30.01.1989; with dealer's ticket and collector's ticket). Though traditionally placed under the 2nd to 1st centuries BC, the overall seems to point toward a provincial issue.

Condition: Good very fine.
