Description

Attica, Athens (ca 165-42 BC) AR tetradrachm (Silver, 30mm, 16.84) New Style coinage, ca. 132/1 BC. Dorothe(os), Dioph-, Othedion, magistrates (?).
Obv:Head of Athena Parthenos right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet decorated with a vine scroll, Pegasus above undecorated upturned cheek flap, protomes of four horses on visor
Rev: Owl standing right, head facing, on amphora; Δ-ΘE / ΔΩI-ΔIOΦ / OΘE/ΔION (?) (magistrates) in five lines across field; forepart of lion right, K (?) on amphora, all within wreath.
